Yeah, you'd think that if he believes he's so up on his music that he would know what's meant by the terms "double A-Side" and "B-Side" since they're still terms used today.

I think everyone's being a bit harsh.

Don't think the occasion ever arose where I needed one, though I can use an abacus. :P

First 3 years of secondary school maths were all done with paper, pencil and brain. Log books were used when needed. Now apparently they use calculators for every year.

There you go then! 13 years old means that he's pretty much been brought up post cassette.

Especially if he's as ignorant as every other kid at that age. 8)

Saw a t-shirt picture recently which had a cassette, video and something else holding a Welcome party for camera film.

I'm trying to think what technology would be considered before my time.

Maybe transistor radios. They've been using IC for a long time now.

2 star petrol?

Rotary dial phones.

Daisy wheel printers. Like being in the same room as a small machine gun. :geek:

Think I used a transistor radio. Or a wireless. :)

Does it count if the thing has totally vanished before my time, like 2 star petrol?

Have used rotary dial phones. Not great if in a hurry.

think have seen daisy wheel printers on tv, but have used a typewriter which is similar concept I believe?

A slide rule? That's just a ruler that you slide along the paper isn't it? Remember them from one of those shit classes I never learned anything in, including the name.
Graphic art or tech design or whatever.

How about a BBC computer? With chunky keys and games like Chuckie Egg.
Or the good old Spectrum 48k, where the game was a cassette and it took half an hour to load up. :el:

No, a slide rule is what came before the calculator.

Ah, the good old spectrum. we had the 128k. Who can forget the great graphics of 2 colours, and the noisy loading.

Oh that's a slide rule! Wow, haven't seen one of them in ages.

Yeah on the spec continues were useless because couldn't find the right bit to restart with.

Though I remember some games, think Target Renegade was one, you could skip levels by simply loading the level you wanted. clearly a bug. :)

wonder how many people who were brought up on PS2 would remember Dizzy?
