Sooooo... I have been trying to start a forum of my own for a site I am starting for a friend and I've been trying to use the phpBB format. Downloaded it, but came to a standstill because keep needing other programs as requirements. I was wondering: Project, Kodamie...what "webserver or web hosting account running on any major Operating System with support for PHP" do you use? Is it free?

*sighs* I love how when I decide to do something I just throw myself into it head first and hope to figure it out soon enough.

Oh, better yet, my internet isn't letting me see the phpBB website so oldgit is having to email the information. Oh the adventure!

I'm getting a lot of tech reading done though...

Fun Fun!

So I have to download php, which needs me to download a program like apache...does the list never end!?!

You either need someone to host a webserver for you or you need your ISP to allow you to host websites from your connection.

Then like Project says, you need to know your OS. Linux is preferred security-wise.

Then you need Apache (webserver), MySQL (database), PHP (active scripty thing) and PHPbb.

I've probably forgotten something.

No, No, not scared away, just been throwing myself head first into building a website. It looks pretty amazing thus far if I do say so myself.

And Gary, I resent that. Well...maybe, do I get to be a super hot international spy?
