So I've been using firefox for years now and never had a single problem with it, however, all of a sudden today the downloader stops working. When I say stops working I mean whenever it goes to download something it makes my whole computer freeze. Then, I went to uninstall it cause I don't want it crapping up my new computer and it won't install, it keeps saying that firefox must be closed before it can be uninstalled, the catch, it is closed. All and all I'm kinda P.O.ed and have no idea what's up.

Advice anyone?

Update: I went to processes to make sure firefox wasn't trying to start up and it was. I ended it in processes and was able to uninstall, however, I'd still love any advice because I really do love the interface of firefox and would like to be able to use it again at some point.

Note* The downloader works just fine for internet explorer, it was only the firefox not working.

Restart the PC or use the Task manager to kill firefox, once in a blue moon the damn thing can crash leaving it hiding in the background.

Maybe try this? "Hang downloading files" section.

I don't use Firefox ever. Especially since it nuked my machine on the very first install.
