They didn't have a chance, only one camera on that corner and Bianchi hit the tractor on the opposite side to the camera. They did have a shot of the marshals waving after it had happened.

Eh, it was no Valencia. It did show how much of an advantage the Mercs have.

I didn't appreciate the bit where Putin breezed in an hour late and presented a bunch of the trophies.

Turned off the moment the cars crossed the line. I guessed he would do that.

Him and Bernie hanging out like best buds, shows how out of touch and unsuitable Bernie is now.

He hasn't exactly got a huge amount of choice.

Hopefully he'll take a year out, win Le Man then come back. :)

Sounds like a fairly sensible report following Bianchi's crash.

As for their suggestion that races not be scheduled during the local rainy season, no shit sherlock! I've been saying that for years now.

Fuji 1976... Was is 2009 Malaysia where they had to stop due to the rain?

Sounds like some sensible ideas, no daft kneejerk reactions.

Amongst others, Japan has been shady a few times in recent years.

Hurrah! Shame its with teflonso though. Good article in this months racecar engineering about the merc engine. I'm looking forward to seeing how good the Honda is.

Is it on the web?

I read the Motorsport one that this site references. Amazing, how a single decision made such a cascade of improvements.

As long as Honda don't do the HP=good, reliability=bad thing they did when they were working with BAR.

The turbo is pretty neat but also their exhaust manifold. They went with an old skool log type which is much smaller than the big bunch of bananas the Ferrari and Renault engines ran. Made for neater packaging and a lot less heat in the engine area.

Compare the exhaust on the merc engine to the others and you can see why some had serious overheating problems.

Of course the interwebs was all like 'ermergerd no-one uses log manifolds, it will be shit' at the start of the season :)
