Someone must have hit hard times in my town, what looked like their entire collection of Ghibli was in Cex.

I managed to completely miss the fact that Arrietty is out in cinemas today. :el:

If you're one of the lucky few, it might be near you.

It is the dubbed version, as far as I can see.

I noticed that you got neatly bracketed by showings. I've got to haul my arse upto London if I fancy seeing it. :(

A warmish review by Dr K on 5 Live today, that should boost ticket sales.

Slightly alarmed by his love for Tales from Earthsea, but would like to see the "making of" that includes Goro showing it to Hayao.

EDIT: :) He gave Arrietty joint movie of the week. :)

Did anyone see Arrietty?

Guess we'll have to buy it from Studiocanal (Optimum as they used to be).

Just on my way home from seeing it!

Its everything a ghibli film should be, it looks amazing, has a good soundtrack and the story is good too!

I watched From up on Poppy Hill today and very nice it is too.

Very much old school Ghibli, familiar character designs, pretty backgrounds, good old music and big splodge of nostalgia. :thumb:

Miffed I missed it. I wonder when the DVD release will be?

Earthsea had the old skool ghibli touch, just a shame the story was totally ripped to bits and made little sense.

Just saw Poppy Hill a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely loved it. Definitely refreshing after the increasingly mediocre stuff they've put out since Howl's Moving Castle. (Bearing in mind that I haven't seen Arrietty)

Perhaps Goro should stay away from dark fantasy and focus on light hearted nostalgia.

Maybe its for real!

His film about the Zero designer seems to be kicking up a bit of a stink. OMG!! He made a film about a guy who designed a plane that killed lots of people! Wait, we've made films about the designers of the spitfire & lancaster, people building wellingtons, P51, B17... :el:
