Haganai is a bit of both, my usual crap but with genuinely interesting/funny characters. It's basically a group of socially awkward folks creating a school club with the sole purpose of "making friends". I didn't actually watch this one as it aired last season, but over Christmas I tried to power through as many 'popular' series from 2011 that I missed out on. And Haganai turned out to be surprisingly good.

I can see niconico USA and can log in with my JP account. Episode 1 of Blood-C and Uta No Prince Sama streams for free, but the other 11/12 episodes want me to subscribe. As far as I can tell only Blood-C and Uta No Prince Sama do not present the "region block" dialogue.

I think you've seen the only one that is a must see: Steins;Gate. Dunno what else you're looking for really. Haganai was really funny, Usagi Drop is charming, Fate/Zero is cool if you've seen Fate/Stay Night and enjoyed that universe, Persona 4 if you've enjoyed the game or want to know what the hype is about without playing it, Guilty Crown is alright too I guess. Anything else I enjoyed requires an acquired taste :P.

There's a few I'm leaving to watch on DVD too; Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica seems to have many folks in the tizzy.

I've not seen any of the Fate series. I saw that Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica had a good review on ANN. As for game based ones, meh. Watched Haganai and it was another one of those series that provoked mixed feelings, it is quite sweet and funny at times but it also gives out some very odd mixed messages.

Perhaps I'll have to rummage through 2010's offerings. That or wait and see if Bodacious Space Pirates keeps up the quality.

Just discovered a boo-boo by someone. I have a Western Digital TV live box which has 'flingo'. On flingo is the non-premium crunchyroll content. ALL of it!! No region restrictions.

DOH!

Shiki is available to us over at the FUNimation youtube channel. I enjoyed watching this one back in 2010 ( it was that long ago) and would recommend giving it a watch if horror mystery is your thing.

Does anybody use a set-top box for watching Crunchyroll and the like on their TV?

I was just wondering whether the Roku, Boxee, WD Live Tv are any good or is there something better?

It'd be cheaper than buying a new tv and easier than firing up the PC (less tempting too).

I've not tried on my WDTV for a while but you could not get the premium content. If you've not paid then no difference really :)

However I find the WDTV slow and crashes quite often.

Hmm, I'll stick to thinking about the Roku then, seeing as how it's cheap and easy to buy. Unless....

Time to put my usual question up, as I'm so out of touch now, have there been any Steins Gate/Durararararara/Eden of the East series in the last year or so?
