I wouldn't consider N64 retro. It's only about 12 years old, I think...

N64 was my first console, but I have played the Sega megadrive and the SNES. I think I've played a NES aswell. I remember Super Mario for SNES and some really cool fighting games. I've found a shop that has an atari in its window for sale, but doesn't seem to have any games...

All consoles from the previous generations are classed as 'retro'. This includes N64, SNES, even the Gamecube and Dreamcast. As nobody makes games for them anymore. They still make games for the PS2, I believe, but as the PS3 is current gen and more powerful, the PS2 could also be classed as retro.

Wow. That makes me a very retro gamer then. I haven't bought a console since my PS2, and I mostly use my N64...

So reading back those posts, I am reminded of just how old most of you are. I don't have a clue what most of you are talking about. I was the Ready to Rumble Boxing, Mortal Kombat, and Sonic the Hedgehog Era. However, I do remember Ducktales from Disney tv, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and (one other whose name I'm looking up- it was about bears with a delievry service). I miss the 90's, when tv was good.

It's Tailspin, young 'un.

I remember Duck Tales on the NES, the DULLARD cheat to get the blood and fatalities in Mortal Kombat on the Megadrive and GamesMaster and Bad Influence on tv.

I was just about to edit it too. Seriously, 90s was thee age of tv. Cartoons were awesome, kids shows weren't cheesy, and fantasy shows were campy. I miss it so. I grew up sat in front of the tv. ...I don't even bother with it much anymore.

Moomins was great, loved the books too.
Dogtanian - loved that! Muskerhounds are always ready!

Mind you, new stuff like Dexter's Lab and the Powerpuff Girls was great too.

But in the 80s we had Transformers, ThunderCats, He-Man, MASK, Action Force (GI Joe), and lots of other macho goodness.

To find out what I watched as a kid all you have to do is see my sig every now and again when I update it. 8)

Wasn't Ren & Stimpy the first of the gross out nickelodeon shows.

Anyway, back to the retro games, how about the likes of hard classics such as New Zealand Story, Dizzy or Cybernoid 2?
I remember calling one of the guys in my team over at work recently in a Desert Strike style "Over here!"
Then we have Cannon Fodder, Zool and Xenon 2 with it's real dancy theme tune

And even though I posted it elsewhere, here's that great Cannon Fodder theme

I remember the original Moomins from the 70's and Dogtanian and Willy Fog are both from the 80's. I saw them all when I was at school.

I watch those on Sunday morning before I go to choir. :p He-Man totally kicks ass.
Also the Animals of Farthing Wood!

Cannon Fodder. Excellent game. Aww, I felt for each little soldier I lost. :(
Surprised we've not mentioned Worms yet.

Animals of Farthing Wood was fantastic. I loved how realistically grim and nasty it could be.
