Only just caught up. Not read the books, but the common consensus is that the show is inferior, but it always is. A shame they have so few episodes to work with.
In saying that, I do wish they had made other changes. They keep cutting away to minor characters I don't care about when I want to focus on the main threads. (Theon's whole bit being a prime example).

The understanding the slaver the whole time was very expected by me. Did wonder why these slavers would sell anyone an army and not be ready for it being used against them. Then again, that whole bit bugged me. People that enslaved just don't stop being slaves because she says so.

Diana Rigg is great. Instantly loved that character.
Am having trouble remembering all these grim old men who are reappearing, but otherwise this season feels better paced and handled than season two. Although that could be just because I watched 5 episodes in a row in one day. :pop:

I'm guessing you mean Ygritte. :D
Yeah, poor Jon Snow, having to prove his loyalty in such a way. The measures he has to go to...

I laughed at that bit at the end when Cersei had the smug look wiped off her face.

Nah, he's not even close. Joss usually waits until everyone is nice and happy before killing. :)

But great episode. The more characters they kill off, the closer we get to the Aria/Hound/Jamie/Brienne/Tyrion/Bronn show

He often introduces some new characters to keep the story busy.

You could read the books, but he hasn't finished them yet, so you'll only get so far ahead. :D

I have considered reading the books but it's a bit like watching anime based on a manga - you only get so far ahead and it ruins the show itself a bit.
I'm too invested in the tv for now. I'll read the books later and then can moan about how much the show left out.

Can't say I was sorry to lose Rob Stark and his wife, whatever her name was. I had a tendency to fast forward through their scenes anyway.
Momma Stark was intense though.
