Xmas telly

#1 Post by kodama » Wed Dec 16, 2009 12:15 am

I saw an ad for Family Guy Blue Harvest on Xmas eve 9:00pm on FX and thought I'd bung it in here.

Feel free to stick any other good stuff in here too.

Oh! Oh! Reminds me, not checked out the Christmas Radio Times!!
Will do that and start trumpeting them.

Surely they'll show the Snowman again. :!:

If only they'd show Will Quack Quack again. :)

I saw the Family Guy trailer as well and thought "Cool! They're showing the new star wars Family Guy already" but nope, it's the first one

I didn't think much of Blue Harvest. Wasn't as funny as could've been. Was basically just a recreation of Star Wars with the Family Guy characters with a few hit and miss jokes thrown in.

But main thing I'll be watching on the 25th is the first part of the end of the Tennant Doctor Who.

Oh yeah, do want to see Doctor Who, if for nothing more than to see how it goes.

Wallace and Grommit's Curse of the Wererabbit is on Boxing Day, which I loved.

Don't know if I'll watch anything this year. Last year's Royle Family special was a bit naff, not too sure about this new 'un.

Should have left it at The Queen of Sheba special, rather than do what Only Fools And Horses did and carry on, therefore putting a dampener on what was a fantastic episode.

The new The Day of the Triffids will be on over the holiday. Will watch that. Could be terrible but hoping for better.

The Big Fat Quiz of the Year is usually good for a lot of laughs. More so this year as they have Brooker, Ross, Mitchell and Brydon on.

The trailer for Triffids is interesting, however I'm not sure if Eddie Izzard with a shotgun worries me or makes it seem better. :?

Yeah, I know he has done serious acting but not seen him do much and not sure what to make of it.

Anyone watch the Day of the Triffids?
Reminded me of the King Kong remake. The monsters look much better, but the rest doesn't work so well. Felt far too fast, and a lot of moments when I thought 'ok that was dumb'.

Still, cool enough for a holiday watch.

It did feel like they'd edited a much longer production down to just those 2 eps. There were times when you'd think "hang on, did I miss something?"

Yeah, I have no idea of the timeline. Not that it mattered much in the end.
