So what did everyone think?

I hope this has a defined end. That way it could have a beginning, middle and end rather than becoming a problem/monster/world of the week programme.

Had a lot of reservations for some time, but thought it was good. Certainly learned a trick or two from BSG. :shifty:

Better than the other openers for me, and actually liked it being more serious.

Plus Bobby. Thought he was excellent. :wnw:

Bob was good, twitchy and untrustworthy. :)

His accent was all over the place though, English, Irish and Scottish.

Still have to watch it but I read an interview with Robert that he was asked just to keep his accent so I don't see why it would be all over the place, unless it just comes naturally to him now.

Pft, he wasn't doing scottish. I guess his accent is somewhat muddled from all the years of living everywhere and doing every accent.

I think he was doing Scottish, but toning it down. When you hear him normally in the interviews it is stronger.
Basically the Americans said be yourself, then couldn't understand him, so got him to change. Surprised he doesn't have his own subtitles.

So is it basically just Stargate:Voyager meets BSG?

Watch it yourself and form your own opinion.

I've seen a couple of idiots say "I only watched it so I know what I'm hating".

Yeah it's an obvious name going from the premise, and in no way imaginative which is how I managed to think of it without reading it elsewhere. :P

Oh and I'm not hating it. I expect to like it. Will watch it today or tomorrow

I've been expecting not to like it but was surprised. Maybe that helped.
But yeah, seen some really moan.

Was there a sex scene I missed?

Is this what was puzzling you?

Or rather it's omission from Sky's version. It was aired at 8:00pm, so I guess we got the pre-watershed version.

So Sky edited it? Great start for them. Since I remember them editing Atlantis as well.

I believe it was the editing that caused Channel 4 to drop Angel due to the amount of complaints they received about the edits.

Oh so was dropped then. Seen lot of complaints by diehard Stargate fans and then thought, wait, where was it? Did think be due to the timing.

Angel was fucked up. I remember one scene where Angel fought a Spike, then another vampire ambushed him. They cut it all so one minute he starts on Spike, then he's down and there are two standing over him.

And Atlantis edited a scene where Ronan broke a guy's neck. You could tell from where he grabbed him, then he fell to the floor while the music jumped.

But they should show these shows in the slot where they can show the whole thing. And if it's suitable for an American audience who start an uproar about the slightest thing and where sex or swearing aren't allowed on non-cable channels, then it should be okay here.

I'll never forget the version of Showgirls that aired on VH1 when I was over there. No sex, nudity, swearing or violence.
