It's about time they had someone a bit older, otherwise if they'd followed the trend no. 12 would have been a teenager or something. :D

Apparently some people saw clips of Malcolm Tucker and just assumed they were clips from the new Doctor. Have even seen people complain about swearing in the show is going to put them off.

Wow, I'd never thought of the new Dr Who as being particularly high budget until I saw that.

Well it is going to be airing in cinemas. My local is showing it, but think I'll watch in the comfort of my home in 2D

Sorry, maybe my sarcasm was slightly too subtle. That short was really cheap looking. :)

I didn't notice as I was distracted by the fact The Doctor and the one from the ship were still in one piece, minus their lives, after that crash.

Yeah, I was thinking that too, they should have been mush or ash.

Still was glad to see McGann get his regeneration since he was the first Doctor I watched. Now hope Eccleston has come back as well for John Hurt's regeneration. Will find out tomorrow week

I doubt Eccleston will. He seems a bit sniffy about the Doctor stuff. Would be great though. Was watching the first episode with the Dalek the other night and he was really damn good.

He's seems too much of a serious actor to enjoy it all.

Looks like they got permission to use old footage and that was it, they couldn't get a Hurt to Eccleston regen.

So they took his great dark moment and rewrote it, pesky time travellers always breaking their own rules. :D

I didn't realise that the simulcast involved sending copies out early for dubbing and subtitling, that's pretty amazing that there weren't major leaks.

Would love to know what happened with eccleston and Who.

No explanation given for how they got out of the Doctor's time stream at the end of the previous episode. Otherwise I really enjoyed it, including the brief cameo by capaldi's eyes.

Watched the after party on bbc3. Had interviews, including with doctors 5, 6 and 7. They did a short thing called the 5ish Doctors which was pretty entertaining with loads off celebrity appearances. But Peter Davison said everyone he asked to take part agreed except one person. Didn't say a name but just said you can guess who that was.

Yeah that short looks good. Not seen it fully, just the start with Sean Pertwee and Olivia Coleman.
Shame with Eccleston. Not sure if he has an issue with Who or the BBC.
