Yeah I watched him do his english and thought only an american in an american show could do an accent like that.

I still remember fondly the scene with McNulty and Bunk where all they say is fuck, fuck me or mother fucker.

The bit where they're doing some real polis work for once? Figuring that old crime scene.

It's amazing how unlikeable they make most of the characters.

Yes, first series, when figuring out how the woman was shot. The once D'angelo claimed he did but was Bennie (I think).

There are very few non-assholes. Especially among the main characters. McNulty is arguably the biggest asshole of the lot. But I think there are so many you get over it and can even like them for it, especially when compared to the shittier people in positions to actually do anything.

Bunk is great though. Love every scene with that big man. Omar too. There's something so appealing about an honest criminal in that show.

When Bunk start chuntering :thumb:

I see what you mean. There's bugger all Sheffield left in that RADA accent. :D

Still sounds like he smokes 40 a day though.

But Punisher War Zone is a nice fun movie with Dominic West's bad accent and also it has Doug Hutchison. :D

On another note I found the investigation scene on youtube but won;t post due to content other than the swearing.

HBO have great shows but can sometimes be dodgy when it comes to renewing series. We had finales for Sopranos, Six Feet Under and The Wire, but then they cancelled Carnivale, Deadwood and Rome after 2, 3 and 2 seasons respectively. Though I still have to see Rome yet

That's it, chuntering. He does that so well. :wnw:

Yeah listened to an interview with him and Richard Bacon on youtube today. A couple of months ago I think it was. So weird hearing him say Baltimore and other words, completely different pronounciation.

Somehow I think a lot of middle-aged women check those clips out. I would!

HBO do good stuff though. Think harder and harder to get a show to last now, the channels are all counting pennies.

Just finished watching the second season of DC/Marvel After Hours, by Itsjustsomerandomguy on youtube.

I loved how it all ended. The comedy is fantastic but he does the serious stuff very well and actually makes the heroes seem cool again.

That bloke could well be my new geek god if he keeps this up. :wnw: :wnw: :wnw:

I've been watching "Dead like me" on hulu and I find myself in love with the biting cynicsm and gallows humour. Does this make me a bad person?

Nope. I liked that show. Created by Bryan Fuller. Watched it when it was on tv. Was cancelled after season 2 but a movie came out direct to dvd earlier this year which wasn't great. Was very different from the series. Had changed one of the cast and another had left. also just something strange about hearing George swearing.

I started on my The Wire dvds. Just watched Episode 4 last night which was the one with the investigation of the old case. Even the subtitles couldn't keep up with all the "fucks". :P

okay, it's official... BABYLON 5 IS FUCKING AWESOME! I started watching the series on hulu, I'm even more hooked on this than dead like me. Seriously, for a show with really cheesy special effects, the storylines and charachters are so great to me! and Londo! A grumpy and eccentric git after mine own heart. And the sweet episode with Adira, I freaking cried! I was so aggravated when she was blackmailed by that slime-ball Trakis and then when she left! You could tell she loved Londo, it broke my heart that she felt as if she had to go. Oh and then when Ivano was talking to her father as he died. More fucking tears! It was SO great!

Also, the people who did the costume and make-up work for this show deserve an award. The whole atmosphere is enhanced by the flawless depiction of the alien race variety. And the clothes are great too. I love seeing not only the uniforms but actual clothes varieties that are beautiful and enchanting, there is a much more real feel because of how well the clothes add to the exoctic mixture of races.

Speaking of clothes, *sighs longingly* now I have more clothes to wish I had.

edit:

So I just went through and was reading how the seasons progress on wiki. I have to say I think this may be the best sci-fi series of all time on tv. It reads like a book! The charachter development and plot are prime examples of masterful storytelling. I can't wait to watch the whole thing! I'd love to see how those ending seasons play out, just reading about them gave me chills, I'd love to see that on the screen.

Effect cheesy, for now maybe, but they were bleeding edge back in the day.

I think they won lots of awards for make up, costume and FX.

Yeah seeing the fighter ships stop and twirl was very cool. Never seen a ship do that I think.

Lando and G'Kar remained my favourites throughout. Was a Shakespearean relationship.
Also great theme music.

Babylon 5 did something rare in scifi shows, and something Star Trek definitely failed at. They made the human race cool!
For all the alien races and Light vs Dark stuff, the human civil war was the best.

OG- It's spelled Londo.

Oh! Also, the first second I saw Sylvia and Ivano on screen together, I thought, wow, they have alot of chemistry, that'd make a great lesbian couple. Lo and Behold, was reading notes about the charries, and turns out they have a very implied relationship throughout the first few seasons.

*glees* Hot Lesbian couples, I love television.

And yet they always made it sound like Lando. Stupid americans.

Yeah, implied relationship. Doesn't really mean anything, but at the time if they had actually shown it would have been a huge issue.
Apparently were some gay relationships in BSG that I never saw (and can't be bothered about).
