This is the greatest thread in the world ever.... EVER!!!!! :D

That dog's arse one sounds like from the graveyard shift they did at first one Radio One. Other catchphrases from back then were 'Get to bed!' and 'I'm great me' from Lard.
I always remember the last episode they did on the late night slot. They had Babybird in and the bloke sang You're Gormless, although he did change to You're a Bastard by the end.

I don't need to remember their last ever episode on Radio One though as have that taped.
That's one show I could listen to for them and the music. Great songs they were able to play on that one.

As for the Good Doctor's rant on Pirates, that is one of his best, although the Revenge of the Sith one also met expectations.
Still, love Mayo wandering off and reading the paper. I hope Kermode has seen that.

Oh, and best bit is these couples are linked. Kermode used to do reviews with the two Mark/cs, and they once had a big row, apparently, over the Blair Witch Project, which Radcliffe and Riley hated.
Also, best radio I ever heard was Mayo on their show in the afternoon when he was staying on air for 48 hours for Comic Relief. The three of them were great together (Jamie Theakston? Short bloke, wears glasses?) and clearly fans of each other's shows.

There's a real argument about Bay - worst director in the world, or worst director of the planet? Hmmmmm

That was always going to be a good one, and the review for Revolver was a classic too.

Solar system maybe?

Look what I found, it's the bit where Mark's interviewing Werner Hertzog. Then Werner gets shot ><

Don't forget he has tough competition from Ewe Boll for those titles too :smurf:

I love that line, which Kermode often quotes, 'it was not a signifcant bullet'.

Bloody significant if it was fired at me, mate.

As for Boll versus Bay, someone should actually arrange that as a match. Be funny to see Boll pound Bay in a ring like he did those critics.
Personally, Boll is the lowest of the low. Some of Bay's movies can be watched once without brain death, I hear.

Oh that takes me back!

Usual thing. I listen, I frown, then it clicks and I chortle in an immature way while wondering how the hell did they figure out doing that to a record?
'Hold on, Marc. If we scratch it up and combine those lines, it comes out....'

Reminds me of Fat Harry White. The things they got away with him saying!

The list of Mark and Lard sounds is pure gold. I'm having that on my favourites. :D

One thing to have F##k my Hat. Another to have Travis singing Britney's song, and making it sound better than she ever could.
But we have the Goat Story! That's one I have never forgotten, and yet found it hilarious once again.

Oh, and I defy anyone to read this song title and not laugh:
Common as Muck Women, Stay Off Our Big Gay Roads.

Ah dammit, I can't believe I missed the Travis one.

When I get near a computer with speakers, that's the 1st thing I'm playing!

Some of the Sex In The City rants have been pure Kermode gold recently.

As for Mark and Lard, I admit I only really started listening to them once they started the afternoon slot on Radio 1 but they quickly became a mainstay of my weekday afternoons. As that sound archive showed they got away with a heck of a lot of stuff for the afternoon - I remember once the Cheesily Cheerful Chart Challenge ended with the entirety of The Man Don't Give A Fuck by Super Furry Animals, naturally featuring a stupid amount of bleeps. And although no one I know seems to remember it, after the Radio 1 bosses complained that they spent too much time talking between songs, one afternoon show consisted of them humming Tubular Bells between songs for about 20 minutes.

Oh, and of course a copy of The Shirehorses stunning second album Our Kid Eh is nestled away lovingly in my CD collection.

They could get really uppity when the bosses came down on them, and for good reason. When I started listening to Radio 1 the DJs would chat to each other in hand overs. They eventually put a stop to that. I haven't bothered with that station since M&L left.

I do remember once they really overran, about 20 minutes into Sara Cox's show, and she was fine with it. Can't remember why, but often two hours wasn't enough.

I have Our Kid Eh as well, some great songs on there - I can never hear Robbie Williams Angels without sniggering.
Also have the first album on cassette, and the best bits of their evening show, with the Rabbi, and the goldfish, and Down by the Riverside (I think it was called). Also have some shows lifted from the radio, such as their last ever one, and an interview with the Shirehorses that they did, with all their showbiz mates pitching in. :D

Also their continual ripping on Craig David (Craig and David especially comes to mind), and Jamiroqai, and the Stereophonics - never forget the brilliant farewell they did for M&L, 'who's going to take the piss out of us now?'

Oh, and here's a piece of trivia to really shame me. When the Good Doctor had a back injury years ago, Mary Ann Hobbs took over for a bit, and then they even shared it. Later, when M&L moved to the breakfast slot, she took the graveyard shift.

 This is a critic NOT A FAN! When they start reading what the fans think it suddenly cuts off!

He even gave Die Hard 4.0 a bad review! Can't people just have fun?
