I was going to wait to post this so would only be one recommend a... post tonight, but since kodama insists on threads :P

Since I like both Akira and CyberCity Oedo 808, I was curious as to what other cyberpunk animes are out there that are worth watching?

You could try:
AD Police
Dominion Tank Police
Armitage III
Battle Angel Alita
Geno Cyber

To name a few :)

Ghost in the Shell (obviously) and Dirty Pair Flash also spring to mind.

Whilst mentioning that Crisis is incomplete and Crash is controversial attempt to continue Crisis.

It's also gloriously cheesy 80s anime. :D You can get it for free on Vuze

Saw the first ep of Crash, was it, that was on sci fi. but missed the rest. No Sky+ back then. :(

Have seen some of Battle Angel Alita but was years ago and wasn't a big fan. But that was about the time I didn't get Akira either so may see if can get it again. And AD Police is one I want to see as well. Must keep an eye out for it.

patlabor 1 and 2: a pretty cool. and quite clever too, almost on a pair with Ghost in the shell.

goku midnight eye: its not that good, but that’s why its good. must like gogo 13, it make no sense and there lots of bear flesh and gun battles. if you like exploitation anime you love this.
