It's the best part! Also it's warmer down here.

Why do you feel at home? The beer or the cynicism? :D

The beer, alas, I'm allergic to.

So it must be the cynicism. Seriously! I was in Dorset for 3 weeks last year, and my sense of humour completely fitted in! Almost nobody understands my SOH here in Ireland, but in England, I'm king of comedy.

Also, it's warmer there. The sky was a funny colour and there was this roundy thing hovering in the sky.

Surely an Irishman coming to England isn't really emigrating, more just popping in and forgetting to go back until sometime around retirement age? ;)

Yeah, we've abandoned the regular seasons thing and just alternate drought with flooding.

Well at least you seem to like the south of England by the sounds of it. I've a friend who emigrated to the Midlands (Coventry to be exact) & he hates the place.

I went to Uni there, so it has sentimental attachments but still it rains a lot and there's a lot of concrete.

A message to those who drive in bus lanes in the hope of avoiding traffic.

A note to the woman 4 seats behind me on this bus.

No, your desire to sleep will not make me turn off the little light on the bus. I want to read. I have reading that I have to get done. It's a tiny light, very localised. I'm not pumping out music, I'm not having loud phone conversations, I'm not being obnoxious in any way. You just seem to think that your desire to sleep on this bus trumps my right to get some reading done. Also, you're 4 seats behind me. There are people sleeping in all of the adjacent seats, with no complaints.

Bloody cars!! Driving down the motorway, flicked the wiper stalk to wipe the rear screen, *CLUNK*, look in the rear view mirror and see the wiper blade is now missing!

The plastic end of the wiper arm sheared off :el:

Worse still, the wiper was only about 6 weeks old.

I have a few suits, of varying qualities. My best one, tailor fit, Savile Row, mainly wool, seems to attract the rain. Every time I put it on, I get about halfway to my intended destination and the heaven's open. 4 times now this month the trousers have needed serious TLC because of the weather. I wouldn't mind so much if it were one of my cheapo suits, or if the weather forecast was bad, but it's all clear and frosty on the weather apps, and indeed when I get dressed in the morning. RIP suit. :(
