They have one really big set of guests and other than that it's a little poor, but Futurama is pretty big.

Anybody going?

At least with online tickets, you don't have to book ahead.

Good grief, they're actually telling everyone before the event when it going to happen. Last May even the panellists didn't know. :)

It looks like the interesting things don't clash either.

London Expo May 2011

Well, back from the expo. I think this was only the second time I've been in the past 4 years where there hasn't been some major transport foulup. The worst bit was they ran out of wristbands to let people in.

Even better they had a hall open with some chairs and tables so people could sit down and eat, drink and rest rather than having to sit on the floor in the main concourse. They even had some barriers guiding people in sorta the right directions. Still bugger all signage though :)

Anyway... small haul this year. a) cos I'm feeling a tad skint and b) there wasn't much I wanted.

Simon's cat book is for my big sis as a late birthday prezzie. I was going to take her to the expo but she could not get the day off work.

Anime industry panel:

Andrew is now working for Kaze so no-one from Beez at the panel. Chap on the left is from animenewsnetwork. Jerome as ever forgot his notes.

Nothing major to report, MVM are licensing Ikki tousen series 2, manga are licensing strike witches series 1, Kaze are licensing Tiger and bunny for DVD release via manga, plenty of crunchyroll bashing but nothing OMFG earthshattering.

Some of the VAs from Futurama were there and did a Q&A:

Left to right
Maurice LaMarche (Kif)
Lauren Tom (Amy)
Phil LaMarr (Hermes)
Billy West (Fry)

Finally the Q&A with Simon who writes Simon's cat:

Chap on the left is his techy guy. The last pic was taken freehand from about 30ft away with no flash ;)

Another fun, hot and expensive day out at the Excel centre.

Pfft, suck all the fun out of my life why don't you. No photos from me then.

All I can add is that The Claw was there as usual and Emma wasn't a blur for once, so we even saw her sit down.

Also I'm not impressed with the whole wrestling corner thing.

Finally, just remembered that we "met" Duke Nukem.

Emma was there yet you have no photos? What happened? :)

Ah I have to ask, since I usually do: Any word on when new shows start on AC?

I didn't feel like shoving a camera in her face. She wasn't wearing the same old Expo gear this time.

I would say the new shows will come shortly after Duke Nukem forever is released, but that is 2 weeks away or so said the bloke handing out merch.
