Taken that they've just revealed the new dub on CR, I would say that points to a new release in the USA fairly soon.

However all the ADV dub lovers really don't like it.

My guess is that the ADV dub is all tangled up in the Sojitz mass licence withdrawal. Which is why 5cm disappeared.

*mutter mutter* Did ADV actually dub it? (never bothered to check after everything went to crap)

I've only seen it sub, which was a pain as I couldn't take in all the detail and yelling 'Oi! REWIND! I missed the last caption!' in a cinema doesn't go down well :)

Yes they did. From all the gushing on TAN, I think it was one of their best. Didn't sell too well from what I hear though.

Darn, from a quick scan of the CR stream dub version I have to say its so-so. Place promised was a good dub.

*goes over to TAN to cause trouble*

Somebody forgot to kill the MS streams so it looks like it's going to be more of a weekend rather than a day. :D

They seem to be no longer available now. I never got to see The Place Promised in Our Early Days. :( God damn it.

The hint was in the title. 24hrs, even though they did run over by 12 hrs or more.

All is not lost though, it's only a fiver on play.

They did, and it must be the only ADV dub in years not to have Chirs Patton in it, perhaps he had a cold or something that week.

The DVD is now worth a few times more than what I paid for it perhaps its time to sell up.

Ooo something new from Makoto Shinkai.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T37GhIqsO28&feature=player_embedded

The english title may need a little less literal translation. :)

And when did he become part of the Ghibli clan? ;)

He's done an interview with imagine-nation.

http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/english/tv/imagine/index.html

It'll be on 26/7/11 - 27/7/2011 on NHKWorld.

He looks about 12, but he's older than me. :(

I don't think I'll be watching imagine-nation again, the presenters really are dreadful now, still it was interesting to hear a bit more about the guy.
