I was wondering that myself. Has anyone here read the manga as well as seen the show? If so how do they compare?

Lucky Australia.

The thing that worries me is that this will follow the manga, but from what I hear the manga isn't finished yet. So doesn't that mean it will be an infinite series.

It may do as they did with the first one. Follow the manga to a point and then go on their own path.

I read somewhere that when the first series was being made only 4 manga volumes were released, but now there's 21 and that BONES have no set episode count, but they want to make as many episodes as they can. That said however, Soul Eater did branch from it's original source with chapters left to adapt (but that was always going to be 51 episodes). It's also annoying how Ed's, Al's, Armstrong's and Bradley's VA's are the only ones returning....Roy's VA is Lockon Stratos from Gundam 00.

But true...it could be like watching the first series again...I've only read up to half-way through Lab 5, and the only differences I've noticed are
[Reveal] Spoiler: There you go Exey, spoiler tags
Basque Gran not being alive in the manga, and Scar killing Tucker during the Night of the Chimera's Cry bit (meaning him being in lab 5 was an anime-only thing)

Perhaps it's not a good idea to post spoilers from the Manga. :x

Perhaps, but no one really cared about him anyway =3 *goes to edit it into spoiler tags tho*

that's the second time I've spoilt the Night of the Chimera's Cry bit...last time was the anime version, because the idiot didn't look for a reason why spoiler tags were up.

Funi have got FMA Brotherhood and they're going to stream it.

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-04-03/funimation-to-stream-2009-fullmetal-alchemist-on-april-9

So we will probably be able to watch it. They've yet to region lock any of their stuff.

So be about 5pm our time next Thursday. But I thought you have to pay for some stuff. Or was that Crunchyroll?

Funi have download to own but that's for the US market only.

Shikabane Hime was their first streaming venture and they haven't charged for that.

CR has an early viewing subscription scheme.

Shame it's 4 days after the premiere and not 2 hours like crunchyroll, fansubbers will still be popular then...however, this probably just means FUNi is subbing the series itself.

CR is only near simulcast if you're a member. So for those that don't have CR membership, funi is slightly better:

4 days for funi v 7 days for CR.

Some non-member stuff was like that, like Linebarrels of Iron.

But that's true, and I'm not a member anyway - pay, or wait a week xD

We get to find out whether funi will be region blocking from 10:00AM CT. Which I think is 6 hrs behind, so around 4PM.

Although having just looked here:

http://www.fullmetalalchemist.com/

It says in about 10mins :?

Are you waiting patiently at your computer and gonna start hitting refresh around 4? And if not up at 4 on the dot, you can go onto various forums and bitch about the free anime not going up in time.
