I've seen people complaining on other boards when stuff wasn't posted right away. Will not say what those boards are though. :shifty:

So there's now that and SH every Thursday to watch.

Ha, well they can't complain this week, don't know about other weeks, funi can be a bit wonky with their updates at times.

It's the usual high quality stream with decent subs.

Someone who's watched the original FMA recently will have to say if it differs much, as I can't remember.

Well it certainly doesn't start the same way the series and the manga do. Of course I haven't watched past the first 5 minutes since the video takes an age to load for some reason.

Don't bother trying to watch it after about 5:00pm, it's so popular that it's killing the whole funi site.

Yesterday was even worse, I don't think they anticipated the insane level of popularity.

I'm sure they did....but decided to bask in the fact that it's popular, meaning they'll make mega-bucks when they release it on DVD.

Is anyone else watching it?

Personally, I think they've gone the other way with pacing and now it's a bit too fast at times. You feel like you're charging from one plot point to the next.

Now I see just how different it is to the original series too.

I've been tagging along with it. Not seen the latest episode but it is very different from before. New characters, new events.

You're right, it's very fast, especially at the moment. Keeping up though. Just.

Guess you saw episode 19? :D It's truly epic, although that's the last episode I saw before FUNi put their region block (back) up.

I'm really liking Brotherhood over the original. At first I was like "it's too fast", but then I don't want a retelling of the original so I'm glad it's on speed. It's good fun finding all the little differences, twists and turns. e.g. King Bradley is now "Wrath" instead of "Pride".

I'm following on youtube 1 week behind. The manga site is terrible quality which looks like it's a video scaling issue.

It looks like manga had been uploading the episodes on youtube as they aired, but they had to keep them private. Looking at the upload dates they match with the FUNimation upload dates. I've been adding each video to favourites, but they put them on private after each week :(.

Yep, ep 19.

I shan't mention the fact that Realplayer happily allows you to download the youtube eps, if you're slacking off. ;)

I've only seen FMA 1.5 times and last time was on AC 3 years ago (ish), so I only have rough idea of that plot.

The pacing has really slowed down now. I blitz'd through episodes 21-26 and honestly nothing seemed to be going anywhere. Although I must say they do an excellent job at keeping the tension going.

I found the recap ep rather confusing.
[Reveal] Spoiler:
Hohenheim arguing with himself and Winry's granny about a foot taller than she should be.

Much was cleared up in the next ep, thankfully.

Yeah FMA has those  moments but usually sorts them out soon after.
Enjoying it a lot still.
