I think the main thing at the moment is to actually have a job and if you're really lucky, for it to vaguely be in the industry you're interested in. :thumb:

Spent the afternoon chopping and welding an Audi ISOfit bracket to fit a baby seat into a somewhat modded Japanese import 1997 Honda Integra type R. Poor kid won't know what has hit him/her!

Only just looked at your lighting system, nice but what sort of man are you when you're afraid of a soldering iron? 8)

I'm one of those new age men, we're into feelings and stuff.

Yeah anyway, I'm crap with the soldering iron and would just make a mess (excuse #1). I was aiming to make something that's portable and easy to disassemble (excuse #2). Plus I'd have to go buy solder, the iron and probably some other crap (excuse #3). Buying the cables with pre-soldered connections was a lot easier :P.

Some chips today are crazy small as well. I got some free samples from TI a while back, mostly wireless transceivers. They're so small I can't even see the pins. How the hell am I supposed to use them without some specialist PCB being made or breakout board. In the end they were 'donated' to the university, maybe they can use them from something.
