FFS! If someone was GOING to vote UKIP they would LOOK for the UKIP box. OK, so some voters are daft enough to think "uh.. UKIP must not be standing" but not all.

I really do think there needs to be some limit on who can stand for election. Get rid of parties such as "Animals Count" (although one of my old cats could count exactly how many meals she had been eaten each day) or "Wai D" and certainly get rid of "Labour" and "Green Party". No-one would miss them.

Yeah, saw about UKIP's whine. If you're that intent on voting for someone, you ought to know if they are there to be voted for or not, and while the paper was long, it wasn't that long.

Also picked on the 'some of our voters voted for BNP instead' remark. Not something I would have revealed personally.

I wouldn't say it's comedic. :?
It's just candidate names, their address, their political party, a picture and a box beside it in which you put your number beside.

"Duuuuhhh.... UKIP.... ummmmm... 'B'... 'N'.... 'P'..." :el:

The BNP have won some seats, good on them! A lot of people like to blither on about free speech and other such claptrap but then suddenly its "oh noes! Can't have the BNP!".

I'm all for a limited democracy. Extremes of either direction can take a flying leap.

How many voted for the Judean People's Front and many for the People's Front of Judea?

Definitely them. Idealist pseudo-hippies don't knock on your door and tell you dark skinned fellows are stealing your grandad's pension.

He speaketh the truth.

But the non-smelly smelly hippies tell me they can save the world with bullshit like wind and solar power.

And my grandad constantly moaned about the darkies.... He grew up in India and Rhodesia :)

IMO running out of leccy is a FAR bigger issue yet the ignorant masses will happily vote green and their policies would leave us all in the dark.

(yes, I think nuclear power is a good idea)

Nah there was only 10 or 11 running for the EU elections, the local elections had a much larger amount of canditates.

I'll be voting! I always do. As OG said, it's not like it's difficult.

I voted too (just spotted this thread) just to keep the idiots and hypocrites out of Europe (seriously - why does a party that wants UK independance suddenly want to be part of the European Governance?)

It's far from hard, polling station is about a minutes walk from the house :P

And yeah, the list of candidates was quite long.

But at least we're agreed they're better than the BNP, yes?
