dating for gamers [and the hoplessly geeky]

#1 Post by Dr OcCuLt » Mon Jan 19, 2009 10:47 pm

flipping through the xbox magazine i found an ad for game 4-a-date an online dating site for people passionate about games. no i not making it up there real is a dating site just for gamers.

http://www.game4adate.com/

so dose that work. do people post thing like "i looking for a hot night of passion and coop gears of war. will bring own joy stick. no wii'ing I’m not into that kind of thing." :safesex:

you have to ask your self if you can only relate to a girls by playing computer game's, your real F***ed. that’s if there any girls for you to play with. (in any sense of the word).

so what other geek dating things have you seen

Well, my relationship with Mr Beale got off to a swimming start after I took his copy of Tales of Symphonia half way up the country and held it hostage. So, I'd suggest doing that rather than joining a dating website.

I'm far too cynical to be able to join one of those things anyway. After looking at the website it just reinforces the idea that I'd think everyone on there is fake. That and the search perimeters don't work well.

Nope, I'll just stick to 'borrowing' games from potential love interests to find my men.

its sad real. looking at the web site agene there's vary little there to show this people are gamers/geeks/oukua’s/intelligent. they just look like normal sad t***'s on every other online dating site. :(

you wish you could find a woman how love iron madden, multiplayer halo and dress as sailor moon. It’s a dream for many and a realty for non but it shows imagination. :D

as for the game hostage tactic it better then pushing him on the arm say "i like you" and running away. But you have to give it back at some point and find a another sting for his heart.

I could easily manage the second two. I don't love Iron Maiden, but at the same time I don't hate them. If they are on MTV/the radio I'll listen.

Hence the taking it half way up the country part. To spell it out, that means either he comes up to get the game back and subsequently sees you again or... well, loses a loved game. Thankfully the former happened in my case. :Arr:

If it'd been me I would've factored in the cost of travelling across half the country versus just buying a second copy and worked out that the latter option would be cheaper.
Then again that's probably why I'm still single. 8)

Then there's also the cost of maintaining the relationship.

Probably. No romance or adventure in yer blood. :Arr:

And hey! I resent that comment about the maintenance of the relationship! Howard gets the good end of the deal with £400+ Christmas gifts and regular pampering. In that sense he's the woman in the relationship. If I'd have known the cost of keeping such a relationship maybe I'd have never taken the game myself!

Ha! I'm sure he'll be happy to hear he's the woman in the relationship.

Of course maybe the maintenance comment has something to do with me being single as well.

Bah, all you need to do is find a gal to spend ridiculous amounts of money on you, dress up at your beckon call and generally pamper you like Howard has.

That said, from the way you guys go on about women on here it would seem they are only born once a century or something!

Does that mean no one catches your eyes in the searches on that site, Castor? :shifty:

Hmmm, nah haven't looked at the site. At work so can't. I'll just tough it out in the real world here and struggle to find a woman of your mindset. :P

And technically, I hope they are only born once a century. Don't think could go for someone who's been reborn. :ugeek:

Surely the experience factor would at the very least be of interest.

But unless they died really young, imagine what their real age would be. Hmmm, maybe I am fussy. :?

Perhaps that's another reason why you are single, eh? Won't accept reincarnated women. Might tick a few off the potential list here and there.

I still believe all those profiles on that site are just google searched images with vague details attached to them. For a site dedicated to gamers dating none of them seem to mention it much in the search I did. Sure, I'm all for having various other hobbies, but every hobby other than gaming? Maybe some of the guys just thought it would be kinky to find a 'girl gamer'

Yeah, nothing more exciting than watching women playing games.

And Enki, nothing against reincarnated women. It's the ones who go on about it that would be worried about. :P I think a site like that is what I need, since my mistake is letting the women meet me.
