The political debate thread (or They make me angry)

I haven't quite got the time to fully express my anger over this person.

Has she not heard about the division of church and state?

She belongs in the 18th century.

Robinson describes herself as a Born again Christian,[1] and has publicly stated that it is "the duty of Government to uphold God's law".

Really? You're sure of that are you?

I see what you mean Kodama.
Why yes, I am bored. How could you tell?

The UK is supposed to be a secular nation.
That crap shouldn't have any place here in this day and age.

where the main land (and the rest of Europe) has got over the whole church and state thing years ago. sadly northern Ireland is still stuck in 1689 when it comes to religion and polices.

but she’s a useless MP she only vote in 1 out of 3 times. MP's (SMP/WAM/NIAM/EUMP) need to do some the work there elected to do be for they have the morale right to make any statements (homophobic pap or not), i think if MPs vote less then 80% of the time they should not get paid.

Therapy for homosexuals is something you here going on over there - oh, you're just bi-curious, stare at this picture of Jessica Rabbit until you're cured. :el:

Please Steven, now you are gonna get me going about how f'ucked up our politics are! I've been for homosexual rights for years, and many of my friends campaign as well, it is a long and fruitless battle. Although, a new state has gotten gay marriage rights!!!!! *happy dance.* And we are still fighting for gay rights in ny state, but I sure hope we get there! Plus, I can't begin to reiterate how stupid I find it that people think that homosexuality is a disease to be furkin' cured!

Well, it is genetic.

I read a study in the Gaurdian that said something like:

Gay men are born with female brains.

Now, that's total over simplification, but you get the general gist. The essence of the article was that a scientific study on neurology had been carried out, that showed that a homosexual's brain is basically dominated by the gender that the homosexual isn't. Now, if this is true, then either a) God made them that way so there's nothing wrong with it, or b) if you don't believe in a God, people are born that way, just like you're born straight.

I honestly don't see why people have such a problem with homosexuality. I really really don't. Why does it scare people!?

As for the separation of church and state, I have often said, on the net, in debate and in essays, that a unless a government is utterly 100% unbiased in terms of creed, sexuality, race, gender, etc. it has no right to govern. I've also said that for the time that a person is in government, he or she should suspend (but not give up) his or her personal beliefs, in order to be truly objective in their governing.

A pipe dream, I have no doubt, but a part of every manifesto will be a pipe dream.
