Would love to see words used properly again - random, fantastic, awesome, perfect, etc.
Also the word 'literally'. Someone use it in a correct context on tv just once!

I've never had much sympathy with the 'smokers are being treated like pariahs' attitude. I mean, they are, but for fucking good reason.

Rubium- An art house film, do tell more?

Well, way back in July I was very ill for a few days and I went into a dream, in the dream I saw two people dressed completely in black with mime face paint that was almost Gothic they were slow dancing on a giant silver platter that was slowly spinning in the moonlight while the track "unchained melody" by the righteous brothers played in the background, they didn't acknowledge me so I went up to get a closer look and they were both dead behind the eyes, it was almost like they were puppets, the platter then suddenly clattered to the ground and I woke up.

for about two days after that every time I slept i'd have the visions of the same mimes only in different situations (one dream in particular was terrifying but im afraid I cant remember to well exactly what it was about) so when I got well again I wrote a handful of the dreams I could remember, and I linked them with a subtle romance sub - plot based on some poetry I wrote a while ago.

I finished it completely about 3-4 weeks ago and it played for about 2 weeks every night in an old cinema that's a short drive from where I live ( its a public cinema where people can submit films, it also helped that I knew the person who works there) and the overall reception was pretty good, right now ive just finished the script for another project im working on
this one was spawned out of an old nightmare I had years ago resurfacing unexpectedly and also through 2 days of sensory deprivation, which i can tell you was very fun indeed. :wack:

*Apologies for going off topic I just wanted to answer Nichols question because my internet went down last night and i wasnt able to respond in time this morning :| *

You need to cut down on the amount of cheese you eat before bedtime that or leave the mind altering drugs alone.

Have you put you masterpiece on youtube yet?

Im afraid not, I tried to stick it up last week but after 5 hours of it reading *please wait* I abandoned it, so im not sure whether to attempt re-uploading it or whether to just leave it. (youtube's pretty cluttered as it is.)

I could however post the script in the creative section. (its a bit out of date though as ive been told my writing style has greatly improved since August '08.)

It's currently in three parts, all together it totals 4 GB but I think thats because all three parts are saved as DV files. It was rather foolish on my part to save them in that format but I wanted the best playback for DVDs and WMV has an unbelievable compression rate  AVI isnt much better as a format on size either.

Rubium: Yeah, that would be why.

Obviously you should keep the originals as uncompressed as possible, but for uploading you'll have to compress the hell out of it.

The maximum upload size allowed on Youtube is 1GB, so a 4GB video split into three parts...

That wouldn't help but 1GB upload on ADSL. It would take forever.

Hmm, Well I'd have to edit it even further if I wanted to get it up. :(
I've already had to cut about 15 minuets out trying to edit it down to remove all the brooding dark bits that I could to reduce the file size to what it is currently, if I took anymore out it wouldn't really make much sense  I'll probably Just upload the script in the creative section on here. (if that's alright with the admins?)

Perhaps you could upload it in 5 parts?
There's no better place than Youtube to get your work out there.

I don't think you need to edit down. More sensible would be a drop in screen resolution (youtube remember) and some sort of mpeg compression.

Quote:
Our recommended file format is MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid or SVQ3, rather than h.264) at 640 x 480 resolution, with MP3 audio (64 k mono).
Says youtube.

EDIT: In 10 minute max chunks too.

I think for times sake I shall most likely put clips up rather than the whole thing. (The odd avant guard scene here the odd slow song there.)
