I'm itching to get there. Me and work don't agree.

For a short while in 2000(ish) attended Uni up north, it was shocking (the Uni, not the people, they were lovely). My halls of residence were a decaying tower block whos single redeming feature was that there was one of the student bars on the ground floor. Mmmm cheap student beer...The classes weren't much better, half of the studets in my Film Production course hadn't used a digital camera before - this is degree level for Gods sake!

So i did what most good students would do in that situation - i smoked and drank my loan away, in the whole of my second simester i atteneded one entire lesson! Yey for booze and illegal narcotics :drunk:

Then i made a descision i class as one of the best i've ever made, i went back home to get a job.

The end.

A spot of necro-bumping to shine a light on something useful to some. If you have a .ac. email address (given to you by your place of study) you could be eligible for the full version of Microsoft Office at a very cheap price. Here's the link to find out more. Just to let people know about this; I never found out about it until 2nd year and took up the offer straight away.

That's just piss poor planning. I always selected lectures that allowed me extra sleeping time. Or if absolutely necessary filled the entire day and left you with a spare day for sleeping

To be fair, I only have 15 hours of lectures a week, 3 of which are tutorials, and most of them are music, which I'll sleep through. I finish nice and early on a Friday, so I can drink then, but it's a bit of a bummer having a 9 am start on Monday.

It's one of the best lectures though, so I don't really mind...

Just thought I'd mention that I've decided that next year I want to go to Dundee University. I'm actually looking forward to it. :)

Reading? Now there's a term I haven't yet heard. I'm assuming you're wondering which subjets I'll be (hopefully) taking?

Zoology. http://www.dundee.ac.uk/undergraduate/c ... oology.htm

Think I've only heard the term on that University Challenge show. "My name is Gary and I'm reading the back of this cereal box". Hmmm, wonder why I was never on it.

i think "reading" is an ox-bridge thing. every one else says studying. still its better then us where they say "majoring" :)

as a side note on Zoology: I meat lots of Zoologists at party and they always starts the conversation with “I don’t study zoo’s” you always have hold your tongue and not say “well du’r”. not that I trying to put you off Tenshi but were always so defensive.
